Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in the performing arts (now known as Maureen O'Hara), would have placed her in America's child prodigy list. But for a young Irish girl with talented parents and a loving loved ones, this was a naturally occurring trait. Maureen made her entrance into this hospitable sanctuary on the 17th of August, 1920, located in Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. She was the daughter of Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was a skilled contralto. His father, Charles FitzSimons, managed a business in Dublin as well as owned a part of the well-known Irish soccer team "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons was the child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this lovely family. Maureen did well in sports and enjoyed playing rough sports. Her ability to perform perfectly complemented her love of sport. This was demonstrated by her receiving nearly every Feis award for drama and performances in the theater that her nation offered. As she reached the age of 14 she was accepted by the Abbey Theater accepted her and let her live her dream in operatic music and classical theater.
