Yael Stone, a native of Australia, and who moved to New York City in 2013, portrayed Lorna Mello as a prisoner on Orange Is the New Black. Yael has a degree from NIDA. At a very young age, Yael has been lucky enough to work with the best storytellers in Australia, brilliant stars of performance and visionaries working behind the scenes of film as well as theatre and television. Yael enjoys a rich career with a thriving career in Australia. A continuing collaboration with Australia's much-lauded director Neil Armfield culminated in the internationally-renowned production Diary of a Madman, in which she starred opposite Academy- Emmy- and Tony Award-winning actor Geoffrey Rush. Yael has made New York City her home in the wake of the Brooklyn Academy of Music produced the critically acclaimed production. Yael was the co-founder of The Cannery. The Cannery is located in Bushwick Brooklyn and is based from there to support creative writing, innovative ideas and new work.
